Donor FAQ

Is my online donation safe and secure?

Our website security is provided by Geotrust, a leading provider of authentication and encryption software. For more information, please read our Privacy Policy.

Do you share my personal information with the organization to which I am donating?

It is up to you whether or not to share information with a nonprofit organization. You can choose to share your contact information or opt to donate anonymously at checkout.

If I do not proceed anonymously, what information do you share?

The default option is to share your name, postal address, and email address. You may opt to share only your name and email address or to give anonymously.

Will I receive a donation confirmation?

Once your donation has been processed, the GiveCorps Foundation will send you a thank you note and tax receipt via email. All donations made on the website will also appear in your Give Vault.

What are the advantages of donating online?

The GiveCorps website provides detailed information about the nonprofit organizations and each project. Your donations made via the website are stored in your Give Vault, providing an easy way to track your tax receipts and goodies. Online giving is efficient and effective and lowers the overall fundraising expense for nonprofit organizations.

Can I donate over the phone?

GiveCorps only processes online donations.

How long does it take for the featured project to receive my gift?

The GiveCorps Foundation remits funds to nonprofit organization on the 17 th of the month following the month the donation was made. We notify the nonprofit of your gift when it receives funds.

How much of my donation goes to the nonprofit project?

The GiveCorps Foundation deducts 3% of funds raised for credit card processing fees and a marketing fee, typically 2-8%. All of the remainder goes to the nonprofit.

Can I make an anonymous donation?

Yes. An anonymous donation means the charity knows your donation amount but does not receive your name or any other contact information about you.

What are my payment options?

You may donate using your American Express, Visa, or MasterCard.

Can I make a donation as a gift for someone else or can I make a donation in memory of someone else?

Yes. At checkout there is a box where you can dedicate a gift.

Can I make a recurring donation?

The default option is for a one-time gift. At checkout click on the drop down box which says one-time donation and select the frequency with which you would like to give.

Is there a minimum donation amount?

There is a ten-dollar minimum donation.

Are my donations 100% tax deductible?

Your donation through the Site is made to the GiveCorps Foundation and is fully deductible to the maximum extent allowed by law.

How do I view my Giving History?

Your history is located under the My Giving link, which you can access by logging in using the email address and password you chose during registration.

What if I have a problem making a donation?

Please contact GiveCorps help at help@givecorps.com and we will help resolve the problem.

Can I cancel my donation?

All donations made through GiveCorps are nonrefundable.

What is a goodie?

A goodie is your reward for making a donation to a nonprofit project through the GiveCorps’ website. Goodies are coupons and discounts that you may select after you have made a donation on the GiveCorps website. These coupons can be redeemed at designated businesses.

Do I have to take a goodie when I make a donation?

No. You may take anywhere from zero to all five goodies.

Can I take more than one goodie?

Yes.

Does my coupon/goodie impact the tax deductibility of my donation?

The values of the coupons vary and GiveCorps suggests that you consult your personal tax adviser regarding any tax impact.

How can I redeem my Goodie?

Complete the easy 3 step check out process to receive your merchant coupon!
Step 1: Choose your Give amount,
Step 2: Select your goodies.
Step 3: Complete Payment and down load your Coupon PDF
You can also store your voucher in your GiveCorps’ account in the Give Vault (link).

How do I use the coupon?

Each coupon will have specific redemption instructions.

Do I need to use my GiveCorps’ coupon the same day I receive it?

No. In fact the coupon may not be redeemed until the day after it is issued. Each coupon has a designated expiration date specified by the merchant. Please be sure to check the expiration date as soon as you receive your coupon.

Can I give my GiveCorps’ coupon to someone else to use as a gift?

Yes. Coupons are identified by numbers and each unique number may only be used once. You are free to give your coupon to anyone you like.

Can I combine my GiveCorps’ coupon with other offers or specials?

Individual merchants determine if there are any specific terms and conditions attached to the coupon.

What happens if my GiveCorps’ coupon expires?

Individual merchants determine whether or not they want to honor the coupon after the expiration date.

What if the merchant for my GiveCorps’ coupon closes down?
